London: Typical, Notable Sights (Tower Bridge, Big Ben)

August 19, 2015

The typical, notable sights in London for the inner typical tourist in you. Visiting Tower Bridge, Big Ben, London Eye, and more.

London is amazing. Despite the rainy weather, I found myself constantly smiling and admiring the beauty of the architecture, fashion, and people of England.

Since this was my first real  chance to travel in London, we tried to see as many of the “touristy” places that we could. The Tower Bridge, Big Ben, and the London Eye were the main sights that we wanted to see on this day.

First stop? The Tower Bridge.

I bought a Polaroid camera recently and decided to bring it along with me for my trip — thought this was a cool photo op! (I posted this picture on Instagram too!)

10 Books to Read While Traveling

One of my favorite parts about traveling is that it disconnects me a little bit from back home. Although this disconnection can lead to heartache and major FOMO (fear of missing out), the disconnect can also be beneficial — it allows for more time to read! I don’t read books half  as fast at home as I do while I’m traveling. So, if you’re just like me, here are 10 books to read while traveling:

London: Buckingham Palace

August 10, 2015

Trip to London visiting Buckingham Palace, The Victoria Memorial, and St. James Park with some eating at Nandos

My trip to London showed how I can be a tourist.  My family and I hit all the “big” sights as fast as we could before leaving for our next destination. I wish we had more time to travel  and to soak it in, but I’m grateful that I got to go to London in the first place. Now that I’ve seen all the “big” sights, it means I’ll have more time to relax the next time I visit! Getting older is exciting because I know that I’ll get to plan my own trips and travel at the pace that I find most enjoyable. However, this isn’t to say that my trip to London this summer wasn’t loads of fun!

My favorite memories of London consist when we were walking around and just soaking everything in. Despite having the advantage of no language barriers, I found the streets to be confusing and eventually accepted my destiny that I’d be getting lost. Once that obstacle was passed, everything else was a breeze!

10 Places On My Europe Bucketlist

I’ve always loved Europe. The different languages, types of food, cultures, and the ability to easily travel to other countries has always been extremely fascinating to me. As I get older, there are more and more things that I want to see. Getting older also means I’m able to have more control over ensuring that I can see everything I want to — but that means having a goal and motivation to make my trips to Europe a success. Read on to see the 10 places on my Europe bucketlist!

1. Krka National Park, Croatia

Basically anywhere in Croatia is somewhere I want to visit. With bright blue water, amazing nature, the delicious food, I’m doing my best to visit Croatia next summer and explore the national parks and Croatia’s waterfronts.

Also, how great do these waterfalls look? The ones pictured are called Skradinski Buk and considered to be one of the most beautiful calcium carbonate waterfalls in Europe!

2. Trolltunga, Norway

That’s right, there’s a person in that picture! That’s Norweigan extreme artist Eskil Rønningsbakken — there’s 300 meters of ground beneath him.
